Anybody else hear this? I get this weird thumping noise from the front wheel area when I turn the wheel to a complete lock and drive. It only seems to happen when the car is cold and as soon as it warms up a little it stops. I have the performance pack and live in Chicago where it's damn cold sometimes (especially last week), so I don't know if its the tires skipping trying to grip the road or if it's a ball-joint or something. Anyone else have this issue?

It's the front tires skipping on the pavement. Mine does the same thing when the tires are cold. If you notice it will do it even worse on an incline.

Mine is doing the same thing. Many are saying tires which could be part of it but to me it sounds like coil bind on the springs because it's a loud clanking sound.

I think all cars act odd at full lock of the wheel to one side, it's a sign of back up and change your angle your turning to tight. Why are you trying to drive at full lock any way?

The parking garage at my job has the tightest turns in the world plus the people who park at the corners stick out. It's such a pain!

Maybe coil bind if you're jumping your S550 like the General Lee. :)

Hey guys,

I recommend you bring them in to your Ford Dealers and get this noise checked out. Then, please PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number. I’ll loop in the customer service managers for your area if needed.
