True.Yeah but criminals dont know that and may break your window only to learn they cant drive it!
then those are manualsnot all of the auto's have remote start.... i have a few friends with 2015's without remote start.
i can do even better.. fortin.ca makes a bypass that will enable "3lock" start..... basically... hit the lock button 3 times and the car starts....find a place that will flash it first then sell it... its not hard to install.Aussie posting here.
The imports into Australia are minus the remote start.
Wondering if anyone knows whether what is missing is a software issue or hardware or both. Would love to retro fit the OEM system to an Australian Mustang.
Any advice would be appreciated.
would this be possible on a manual?nope!!!! just the SmartStart piece and a Dball2.... the Dball2 communicates to the car from the smart start....
they are around $110 or so online.. and the bypass is another 60 or so..... any competent installer can install this in under an hour.... just 6 wires.... took me about 20 min....
remote start is possible on a manual. Just requires someone who is familiar with remote start installs..would this be possible on a manual?
In a friendly, non-confrontational way, I'd like to challenge this assertion for MANUAL TRANSMISSION 2016+ with PTS.remote start is possible on a manual. Just requires someone who is familiar with remote start installs..
you need a 5x10 piece from DEI
a 556u module...
a blank 128 bit key from ford or stratec
the manuals arent hard to do... just not for the DIY person.
correct... there is NO BYPASS... you need to program a blank key into the car.... that way it sees the code... the 556U is the box that the key goes into... if your installer cant understand that part.... then you need to go to a different shop..... the PTS wires are "-" and "+" the 5x10 can be programmed for that.... the 5x10 will also activate the 556U that way its like when you enter the car....the 5x10 will also need a "-" out for the clutch....." leave car in neutral......... hit remote start button.....5x10 sends: (1) - signal to the clutch wires.......(1) PTS - signal to the "- PTS" wire......(1) + to the "+ PTS" wire.... activating the 556U send the code for the car to let it start. In a friendly, non-confrontational way, I'd like to challenge this assertion for MANUAL TRANSMISSION 2016+ with PTS.
I have read a large handful of somewhat vague threads that reference rem-starting Mustangs with M/T. I have seen the long-winded dance steps about leaving the car running in neutral...getting out...locking the door...car shuts off by itself etc. etc.... BUT...
My local installer assures me that nobody makes or sells a bypass module that allows this. So - how are these supposedly successful installs happening?
Please educate me! Because I am getting ready to sell my Clifford-equipped sec+remstart vehicle, and I really, REALLY like it. I do NOT want to give up that convenience!

i know it makes no sense... but a seasoned installer will understand... when you enter the car and push in the clutch.... all the bcm sees is - from clutch... the pats signal from the keyfob ( thats what the blank key is for) -pts signal and + pts signal.... thats it. get the right stuff to get the car to see that and you have remote start...Ah! I see! (sortof). I will run this by him & see what he says. Thank you very much!
+1. This has always been a concern of mine, which is why I don't remstart my cars from too far away. I felt even more apprehensive when I had my C30, because with that car, there was a "false" key (a dumb piece of plastic that looks exactly like a key when it is inserted in the ignition switch). I -- and most other owners of that car -- used to just leave the false key in the slot when we left our cars...because it wouldn't turn unless the fob was inside the car. But yeah - to some punk looking in thru the window, it would appear that the key had been left in the slot!Yeah but criminals dont know that and may break your window only to learn they cant drive it!
