I recently bought a gt350 from a GMC dealership and bought there warranty. If I get a tune and God forbid something happens is there anyway for them to see if its tuned? If not this is a genius way to get around ford warranties.

Wellllll... ignoring the tune question, a ford warranty will currently get you a full short block or long block if things go south, but guessing a gmc/aftermarket warranty will only pay for the shop to rebuild/fix what is broken... Not ideal IMO for this engine, but who knows....

Have you actually read your warranty? The odds are youā€™re going to get screwed whether you tune it or not. Honestly I do not see a 3rd party warranty covering anything drivetrain related on a GT350.

Iā€™d get a refund on that now. As in right now. Then, head to Flood or Zeigler and get an actual ESP that will have your back if sh*t hits the fan.

Why? Whats the difference?
Listen to ssmith891 and cancel your policy with GMC and if you can get refund. I don't have time for writing lengthy explanation why. In short, you'll be screwed if anything happened and you stay with them. You need to research on your own unless somebody willing to explain.

Most 3rd party warranty's have loopholes that an elephant could jump though. Especially when it come to high performance vehicles. You need to read the small print. And then the really small print.

Why? Whats the difference?
Why? See above.
Whatā€™s the difference? No loopholes.

Hoping since the warranty is from a different manufacturer they would not know a tune was loaded if it was taken to a GM shop for warranty work.
Big brother will not let you not be noticed, todays electronics know everthing about your car once it is plugged in.

The difference is that there's a 99.9% chance you're going to be SOL if something does happen to your engine.

If you're headstrong about tuning though, none of this matters anyway.

If it is even a halfway decent warranty, I would hope they would send you to a Ford dealer. I canā€™t see a GM dealership working on a GT350. And if that happens they will find the tune.

Na I was planning to leave the engine stock for awhile I just didn't know if other than Ford can see if it was tuned. I am still on the Ford original power train warranty but that will end soon due to time not miles.
