Here’s my car. It’s a stock 2017 GT pp 6spd. It’s fun. I’ve done some auto-x and track sprint. I want to lighten up the wheels, (most likely putting me into cam?). I might like 19x11 (18’s might not clear brakes?) all around, not sure what is needed to accomplish that. As far as tires, I like the re71’s, eagle SC3 etc. I’m not sure on size. I’m considering the apex wheels.
So, what are others running? Is it advisable to go 19x11, or get 19 x10?
I’ve read alot of threads about this and confused myself. Some have the non Brembo bakes and fit 18’s.
i haven’t done anything to the suspension yet.
Edit- still new to this after 2 years.

I suppose I wanted to stay in f street, now the class is most likely cam? So many choices. There’sa few really fast cars in cam in my area.

Anything wider than stock width will boot you out of F-Street.

10" will limit what you can get out of whatever realistic tire size you choose to run, so my immediate go-to here is 11". Which if you don't go straight to 305/xx tires right away at least gives you enough wheel to go to them next time. In either 18" or 19", whichever way you decide to take that part of your setup.

What offset would be square? I thank you for your insight. You always have great info to share! Thanks!!
mom all over the place with this. I would like to keep the overall size similar to stock.
good year Eagle SC3 in 305/30R19 is 26.3 overall diameter. Stock pirellis on the rear are 27.6. Would that matter?

For a rotatable 19x11 or 18x11 you want +50 to +52 offset.

Only difference with different diameter on rear from stock will be extra revs and a higher than actual indicated speed on your speedo

Just the speedometer/odometer would be about 5% off. 80 mph indicated on the speedometer would really be about 76 and 10,000 miles on the odometer would only be around 9500 actual road miles.

Going square from the PP1's 255/275 combination would only involve about a 2.3% shift in ABS considerations, where at least 3% of tolerance typically exists.

With a big spacer and longer studs up front.

Wheel selection that will clear the brembos is limited (and usually somewhat pricey) in 18. Street tire selection in 275+ is also limited in 18. Race tire selection is better in 18.

Take a hard look at what tire you want to use (and is available) before choosing the wheel.

Apex makes some 18x11 that clear brembo brakes. That is what I bought.
