Michigan is a lie.

I found out where our ponies are REALLY coming from.

Spoiler alert: it’s a true Texas ranch! 😂

I rented a beautiful 2022 Ecoboost premium from Budget that was very good to me during my little mini vacation this past weekend.

Purely for fun, I drove nearly 700 miles in a roughly 36 hour span (with only vague ideas of destinations in mind) because I love these cars so much. I truly admire the engineering and effortlessness of the experience behind the wheel and am just so addicted to it after only two long road-trips with Mustangs.

One of the best parts of the trip was actually returning my rental and not feeling sad about it because in two or so months, I’ll have my very own waiting for me in the garage every day. 😍 Can’t wait for those adventures!

Anyway, we just so happened to cruise by this ranch out in the middle of no where that obviously caught my eye. Totally had to turn back for a fun photo op that I realized only you guys would likely appreciate! 🤣

I still think the ecoboost mustangs are criminally underrated. especially in 6spd. they are fun little cars to drive, sure they aren't gonna run with the GT's, but let's face it, they are faster than a stock Fox Body or SN95 GT's. and even the base model is appointed nicer and drives better than either. it is a great value car.

Also, while I was at Power Tour this year an EcoBoost mustang was absolutely DOMINATING the auto-x track, I'm sure of course his car was far from stock

For sure! I genuinely love the Ecoboosts and what they offer folks who don’t need the V8 but still get to enjoy the experience, comfort, and fun of a Mustang with both a smaller price tag AND more fuel efficiency. What’s not to love? I averaged about 26 MPG during my trip (no cruise control, strictly highways) which wasn’t bad at all in my book.

Everyone is different and has different needs and life circumstances so I think it’s great that there’s a version available to accommodate that reality so we can all enjoy these beautiful and fun cars together.

Full disclosure: with that said though my future car is indeed a GT, lol. For me, the exhaust roar and extra boost to the HP increases the fun level enough to justify the additional cost. The Ecoboosts will always have my love and respect though; and apparently the respect of people on the road, as NO ONE tried to cut me off for the first time ever. The average person won’t know the difference between these cars, they just know to stay in their lane and wait for the pretty pony to pass. 😎 It was a crazy difference from road-trips with my Civic!

Good eye! This was absolutely Hill Country southwest of Dallas — I think between Llano and Fredericksburg on the way to the Willow City Loop. Such beautiful landscapes and a wonderful drive in this car!

I'm envious! This May we were supposed to go to Houston and see my granddaughter (yeah that old) graduate from Nursing school then I had a 3 day trip to the Hill Country planned for my gal and me. She got Covid and we had to cancel, major bummer. We're planning a make up trip for prime Texas wildflower time down there next year.

I truly miss having the one I had. ORdered another but it is apparently just sitting in the body shop? According to Ford Racing.

The post is a reminder. When I were younger I took a long trip to San Antonio area, then we crossed the border into Nuevo Laredo for a day, then Austin/Round Rock, Dallas, etc. It was a month long "vacation" in the winter. I vividly remember San Antonio as it was close to Christmas, the river walk all decorated, weather was nice, was a fun trip. Maybe I'll get the Ecoboost someday and make it happen again.

Anyone who trash talks the ecoboost has probably never driven one. It's a fun car to drive and it moves pretty good for a 4 banger. The 3.7 isn't bad, but it feels sluggish compared to the eco.
