First off, if you're a pro photographer you can skip this post ;-) (unless you want to critique or give advice - I'll take it!)
I took up photography as a hobby last year; and mainly I just shoot cars. And since I'm not making money off this hobby I try not to spend a lot on equipment. I picked up a used D3200 for $250 w/ the 18-55 lens, I bought a new Nikon 35mm prime lens for $200 from a local camera shop, and most recently a Rokinon 16mm wide angle lens from Amazon on Prime Day for $295; plus various filters and accessories off Amazon. I also have an Adobe PS/Lightroom CS subscription that costs me $10/mo. I'm just stating the previous to show you the results I received without spending thousands of dollars. Anyway I'm loving the wide angle lens, I've been quite happy with the quality from a fairly inexpensive lens. I caught a couple great shots of some fabulous Fords this past weekend at our local Coffee & Cars. And then there's one of my Mustang from a couple weeks ago I got at a stop on Old Route 66.

Joey, nice photos! one thing to keep in mind with the circular polarizing filter... you can take multiple shots with it turned different ways and then blend the photos together. In the last one, you've got a nice dark exposure on the sky, but there are crazy reflections in the car. You can take one exposure for the sky, then turn the filter until the reflections in the car go away (im guessing about 90 degrees) and then shoot another shot from the same spot. Then use photoshop or any other editing software to blend the two shots together. It works great and it will improve your photos. You've got a great start, and remember, it's not about the equipment, it's about having a good eye and always keeping the entire frame of the photo in mind before you push the button!

My wife has finally began to make use of the camera (Sony A6000) we purchased several months back. We picked this camera up as a recommendation of some good friends who do professional photography and this was their latest pick up. The camera came with 2 lens at purchase, the kit lens (3.5-5.6/16-50), Zoom lens (4.5-6.3/55-210). Purchased the Sony 1.8/50 and its has been my favorite, however sometimes I wish we'd also picked up the 1.8/35. It's been so much fun despite the massive learning curve BUT its been fun!

Back from a trip to Walt Disney World. Captured some nice images.

Used a tripod here and waited for the sunset colors to occur. The sky lighted up about 10 minutes after sunset. Used Lightroom to open up the shadows and enhanced the colors.

Nikon D750/16-35VR, 1/3s, f/22, ISO 100, EV 0, 24mm FL

Instead of photographing this from the front like most people do, I walked down a side path and found this composition. I used Macphun's Intensify CK's Soft HDR filter to pull out the detail and pop the colors.

Nikon D750/16-35VR, 1/125s, f/16, ISO 720, EV -0.3, 16mm FL

Photographing a Disney projection, I waited for a part in the show which had an image up for a few seconds. This happened at the end of one of the shows on the Tree of Life when a lion's face image appeared.

Nice shots. I love longer focal lengths for cars.

I did notice that you have some purple fringing on the highlights. One thing I do to correct this is just desaturate purple and magenta on the entire photo. This will take some of that out. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look at the tail lights. Around the reflections of the sun, there are some purple bits. The 85 1.8 is notorious for this, as is my 50mm 1.4. There are also some auto-correct functions in lightroom if that's what you're using that will help with purple fringing. Hope this helps!

Awesome! Thanks! I wasnt sure how to take care of it. I did notice it worse in some of the other pics. Ive heard it does it wide open but gets better stopped down. I appreciate the help. I was able to tweak it and get rid of the fringing.

my 50mm does it no matter the fstop. It does get better the more I stop down, but what's the point of f1.4 glass if you're not shooting wide open????
Exactly! haha Ive thought about upgrading my 50mm 1.8 to the 1.4. Is it worth the upgrade? I love the quality feel of the 85mm. I know its not an L lens but I cant drop that kind of dough.

I've been considering the 50L for a long time actually. my 50mm is the only non-L lens that I have, but from what I've read, the 50L has some issues. I love my 1.4. I used to have the 1.8. I think it's worth the upgrade, but you already have the 85 1.8, which is very nearly the same lens. Not sure if I'd do both of those rather than the 35mm. I'd be all over the 35mm f/1.4 if I were you... or 1.8 if you don't have the budget.

I have the 50L, not super stoked on it to be honest.

Maybe I just have a bad copy of it, but no matter what I do it does not want to play nice on my 6D. On my 7D, it works as expected.

As someone who has a 50 1.8/1.4/2.5 Macro I really thought I would love it. Nope.

I've heard that the focal plane can be not exactly perpendicular to the line of sight... Not sure if that makes sense, but if it's messing up on your 6d, you probably know what I'm talking about. Another issue might be the depth of field difference on a full frame vs 1.6 crop. at f1.2, the depth of field can be razor thin depending on how far away you're focusing. a crop sensor is slightly more forgiving...

That being said, I just don't see a $1600 value vs the $350 I got my f1.4 for.
