I must clearly not understand how to HDR because mind never come out like that
I going to take some guesses here:

  • HDR
  • liberal use of the clarity slider ;)

I agree though, his shots are great!

Here are a few of mine. I'm using a 5d MkIII. These are shot with a 24-105 f/4L.

I need a bit of advice here regarding polarizing filters.

Same shots below. I just adjusted my polarizer to hit the reflections of the side of the car in the 2nd shot. Can't decide which look I like more. I feel like the second picture is easier to look at, but the car looks a little flat. What are your thoughts?

I would layer them in PS, and use the windshield shot from the bottom image, and the side of the car from the top image.

2nd pic looks more accurate if we're nitpicking that much.

Had the craziest weekend of my life.
Drove a Huracan
Flew a plane
Drove to vegas to shoot a famous model

Now I'm sick.

Done.

All shot with a Nikon D4s / 14-24 2.8. I really want a Sony, lugging this HUGE camera around every where is my 1st world problem. Need something that has the same quality that can fit in my pocket. I would be willing to pay any sum of money for that.

You pretty much mentioned the only alternative. These days, for full frame, there is only 3 big players - Canon (5D* / 1D*), Nikon (D810 / D4*) and Sony (A7RII - high MP, A7SII - crazy ISO performance).

Of course everything is a give and take. Full frame mirrorless is lighter than a DSLR, but not quite pocketable. And lighter is only a bit lighter, those new 2.8 lenses coming out are not all that light. But if resolution is important, these Sony lenses are getting rave reviews for resolution, albeit a few QC quibbles. And to no surprise, mirrorless has arguably worse autofocus performance, but does have a few neat features, such as eye autofocus (fricken great!).

I'm probably already telling you what you already know. I jumped ship from Canon gear myself, had a 7DM1, 4 good lenses, flash and other Canon goodies. Took a hit as you'd expect, but I am really happy with my move to the A6300 and A6000. I decided I don't need the crazy high ISO performance as you really should be illuminating the scene correctly in order to not need high ISO, but the flexibility is definitely nice. As I do as much narrative video work as I can, I needed something video-centric, and although Canon pioneered the DSLR video revolution, I was tired of waiting for a 4K offering from them. I also hated lugging gear around. I get GREAT images from my A6300 and Sony 18-105G, it has tons of range (27mm to 157mm), and only weight about 2lbs with the battery and everything. I'm really not bothered to be carrying that around.

Food for thought. Maybe wait out for the Sony A7RIII, you know with the way Sony has been releasing bodies, it'll be out in less than a year anyway.

Just some quick shots while out on the trail last weekend. The blue one is my wife's and I just really like the way the beige one came out.

Messed with the some brush adjustment editing in lightroom. Let me know what you all think! Im still relatively new to the whole photography thing! All shots done with the Canon T6i.

Took my 2017 Grabber Blue Ford Ecoboost Mustang Premium with Performance Package up to Fort Ontario in Oswego, New York. One of the parking lots has a great view of the harbor and lighthouse. Oswego is also known for its sunsets.

I use an iPhone app called LightTrac to plan my sunset, sunrise and moonrise photo ops.

I set up my flash, a Nikon SB-700, on a light stand and put it in Remote Mode with settings to match the Nikon D750 which was put in Commander mode. Commander mode emits a short burst from the pop up flash to trigger the SB-700. I set the SB-700 to its widest coverage setting of 24mm.

I metered for the sky away from the Sun and let the flash light up the Mustang. Not bad but I wish the clouds had not rolled in about 10 minutes before sunset. In processing, I added clarity and vibrance to the sky using a brush adjustment.

This one is a little too flashy and a car had parked in behind me. I will try and clean that up later. Still working on that post-processing skill.
