it's an okay shot - but the fact that the horizon is crooked really detracts from it. I think with some real quick edits, this could got from an "okay" shot to a really great one. Cars are cool - but do them some justice ;)
Just think of it like a movie, when something wicked and sinister is on screen, sometimes they will tilt the camera to give it more of an unsettling feeling and make it seem like what is being shown is even more evil. I think the same feeling is what Chris was going for.

I personally side with Chris, it's just enough to create that feeling and not feel like a kid with his first DSLR. Lol.

I think it's funny how this thread went from a "how to", to a "before and after" with no how to, to a "gallery". The inevitable evolution of all photography and videography threads. :frusty:
Yep.. because nobody reads the thread and just decides to post whatever they feel necessary.

I think critiquing is still valuable conversation though, others not involved in the critique can still gain knowledge from it.

Spark something up then!

True, I always do. I learn more from being critiqued, or watching someone be critiqued better than reading a book with anything in life. Something about, "This isn't right, because of this...do this instead." that really sparks the light bulb in my head lol.

To start a discussion, what's something that you guys use in Lightroom to edit your shots other than the normal "Highlights, Contrast etc" sliders? Maybe some tips and tricks to use in Lightroom from you professionals out there?

I've been working to develope a bit of a style lately to make my photos more consistent and also to give them more "feeling". I think I'm getting close to something with this.

I've always been interested in what's called Split Toning. When done properly, Split Toning can provide drama to a photo.

Also I have always loved using soft blacks so I used the Linear Tone Curve in Lr to soften them by simply moving the left corner point, up and slightly to the right.

We will see how long this preset keeps me happy. Lol.

That is great Zac. I get the summertime feels :p I have been interested in that look too with the soft blacks and split toning, but haven't really explored with it yet. Didn't really know where to start.

Thanks guys! I try to make my contributions worth it.

What glass and settings was this shot @
This was shot with an 85mm at f/2 with around 600-800 ISO.

Haha. Goal achieved. Split Toning can be tricky and it's easy to get carried away with. In the past I was giving photos surreal coloring but nothing really crazy. This shot of the Z was my favorite from that time period.

But now I'm trying to focus on just making the photo look warm or cool. Later on I will play more with the different colors as I learn more of what I'm looking for.
