Nikon D7000 with multi battery pack and lens that says DX 18-105mm. It that means anything.
Nice start. Now get out and shoot. Start with P mode (stands for professional, LOL!) Screw-ups won't cost ya anything but time. Check out how these guys are framing their shots. Good luck!

Not bad at all, I have the later version of that camera model. If you are interested in car photography you can pick up a 35mm f1.8 lens for under $200 and have a decent setup.
What does that lense do?

Gives a very shallow depth of field aka bokeh.

Examples:

I just took these earlier today with my Nikon D5100 and Nikkor 35mm 1.8f lens.

Nice shots as always man! God I wish I had waited on suspension so I could rock some airlift. Love the stance man.

Went out and just took some "ok" ones today. Wasn't really feeling it today, but thought these came out decently at least.

The dreaded tread again. Don't forget the details brother! Face the wheel towards the camera, you want to show the wheels off right?

I use PNG if I'm exporting from Photoshop because they are lossless and phones can handle them as well as other web hosting/file sites.

Your shots are cool, a little too dark for me personally but you have some great angles, although the composition could still use some work.

I like the underexposed style in some situations but they are just a little too dark for me. If you're having trouble with holding the camera still to get brighter shots then up your ISO until it starts to look brighter or you could use a tripod.
Yes i need a tripod. :)
I do need to work on making them lighter to see more details on the car.
Ill try out the PNG for the next shots!
Thanks!

I'm kind of like Lightnin'.....camera is smarter than me...:frusty:

I just purchased the 35mm f1.8 lens as you suggested. I have a Nikon D90 and can't wait to get this lens. Read some good reviews on it today.

Thanks for the tip(s) from all you experts....

Just getting a 17-40 F4L to start off with. I'd love to eventually move up to the 16-35 but that'll be a while. I'll probably rent some of the really expensive glass when/if I need it and slowly add some other pieces. Camera gear takes away from car parts so it's always a battle of which do I want more.

I assume if you're going to have a 1D you'll have some pretty crazy L glass on it.
Currently set up with the 1DX, 1DX MKII on its way in May. It's all about the L glass as you know, i played with the 17-40 for a few years when i started out, still a smart lens, had some proper results from it.

my bag looks like....

50mm L f1.2
24mm L f1.4
8-15mm L f4.0 fisheye
16-35mm L f2.8
24-70mm L f2.8
100mm L f2.8 Macro
70-200mm L f2.8

I'm about to order my GT PP...

I just can't wait to aim my camera at one!!! oh the night shots I'm planning!!
