Despite having a Canon EOS 700D for a number of years, I never really got to grips with it in as much detail as I'd hoped. However, I traded up to a 77D recently which is a decent step up, along with a better zoom lens (18-135mm) to go with my 24mm prime. I got myself an online course for manual photography & lightroom which I've started, but mainly the intro lessons. Looking forward to honing my skills producing some top class shots. Here's a quick one from the cameras first outing on Sunday - edited in Lightroom mobile just for speed, but real pleased with how sharp it's come out. More to come :)

Any tips on resources for car photography & post processing greatly received...big youtube watcher, so shoot any channel recommendations my way! :sunglasses:

Selfess plug here, I am planning on building out a full Automotive Photography webpage to help people learn. It will all be completely free, just need to start creating the articles. Check back (hopefully soon) and I should start to have some stuff that can help.

In the mean time, I finally got a DSLR photo of the mustang. I hate photographing black cars so much.

Took some time a week or so ago and shot some 24-70 photos of the mustang. Typically all of my shots are 35mm with the Sigma Art 35mm F1.4. Definitely thinking about scoop a 70-200 soon after seeing these photos.

Spent last weekend at Watkins Glen though did not go up to the track this time. Lots to do and see in the village. Took this shot overlooking Seneca Lake, one of the Finger Lakes, near Hector Falls.

Oh, and here are the falls.

Merged five images from -2EV to +2EV in 1 Stop intervals. Used Skylum's Aurora 2019 HDR app to create the HDR.

Shot more cars over the last 2 days than I have in the past few months. Enjoying getting back out right before the snow comes.

Thank you.

The Camaro and STI are shot with my Full Frame body and a 300mm f2.8 lens. With that much compression and shallow DOF the images pop pretty drastically. You wouldn’t be able to get exactly that on your mirrorless (I am assuming you have a crop body mirrorless) but a longer focal length would drastically change your photographs. Even something like a 55-200mm lens at 5.6 would completely change the look of your images and get you 80% of the look of my setup.

First I want to say, this thread is full of amazing pictures! I'm a fan of night time pictures and this is one of the few pictures I've taken that I think is worthy of this thread. I've tried a few times since but need to spend more time learning how to properly use my camera and adjust the settings.
