OK, So I go to replace a bumper cover retainer on my 2019 350 and pull the part out.
KR3V-17F766-A stamped on the part. According to Ford parts dept, no such number. The part for my vin comes in at GR3Z-17D942-D which is definitely not the same part that came out.
There is also a JR3Z-17D942-A which is closer, but still not the same part.

The JR3Z looks more like the original (missing the slot for the white pin), but the part that comes up for the vin (GR3Z) looks nothing like it.
Anyone else come across this?
I ordered both parts to see which one I could get to fit better.

KR3V 17F766 A does not cross over to any service number....however KR3V 17F766 AA does. It crosses to KR3Z 17D942 A . I ran a VIN to a 2020 and I think this will be what you need.

Thanks
It's funny how I can get the other parts for $14-$19 and this part for a GT350 is $32.
I think I'll try to fabricate the JR3Z to work.
There are no images available and it doesn't even state Mustang in the description.
If I can't get either one of the 2 I have on order to fit, I guess I'll have to try it.

Have you had a chance to see the mustang part you’re planning on modifying in person? A lot of the fascia and bumper retainers/mounts/brackets look identical, but are smaller than the ones on the gt350. I figured that out first hand when I made a hasty purchase to replace a broken retainer for my front bumper.

Yeah. I got the GR3Z today. This is the part my vin# shows, but tail had to be cut to work. Rear section is nowhere near what is in my car. Waiting on the JR3Z. Should be here tomorrow. Looks like it'll work fine, just have to put white retainer in. For has to update their parts catalog. Some searches show the GR3Z as discontinued.

No junk yards near me. 350 has only been out a few years. Parts might be scarce. If the part coming tomorrow doesn't work out, might have to make a trip.
Just don't know why Ford doesn't list the part number stamped into the piece.

Ford has engineering part numbers and parts system (supply chain) part numbers for virtually every part on your car. They're similar but different. Usually the PN on the part, particularly if it's molded in, is the engineering number and it's useless at the parts counter.

100% true, although usually the engineering numbers can be crossed over to service numbers. However it doesn’t always work out as cut and dry as you would think (or how it should be!)

OK, I understand that, but why does it show a part that obviously isn't right when they put in my VIN#?
BTown, the number you gave me, KR3Z 17D942 A, is probably the right part, but there are no images of it anywhere, and some parts sites don't even list it. 2.5 times the cost of the other parts. GT350 surcharge. LOL.

That's called an "error" in tech talk. It's a special word reserved to describe screw-ups. Ford's parts system has quite a few, I've discovered.

Thanks BTown. I'll get back to you after I try the part that I have coming in. I just want to get this beast back together.
It's up on my quick jack right now and it's blocking in my Harley. Can't survive with my 2 toys out of commission. LOL

I Wonder if this is a Ford Performance Part and you would need to search there Website instead of Ford parts division..?
Just a thought ..
