The dealer's Internet page says the price is $74,279. No wonder they can afford to discount it $4,000.
Webpage has been updated ... obviously another weaselly dealership trying to bait people into coming in or calling.

agreed, a few months back when I was shopping for a 2017 allocation everyone in the Tampa area was telling my 10K over. Those same dealers are now at 5K so there has been some progress.

I've been speaking with Scott Hackman (internet sales manager) at Airport Ford in Florence, KY (near Cincinnati). They currently have a 2017 allocation (unordered) available, but are asking for a $5k ADM and a $5k deposit. He claims that they can get an R or non-R with this allocation, but I'm taking that with a grain of salt; I asked him to confirm if that's actually true, but I'm not sure if he actually went to his regional rep before responding with a "yes".

The potential of a $5k-over R is tempting, but I'm not sure I'm willing to risk tying up that large of a deposit on it. In case anybody's interested:

If he truly has an R allocation for 5k over, I expect people will have no trouble coming up with 5k deposit - it's a relative steal!

I also think that if t's an R, the ADM will climb when the rush of potential buyers hit him.

So sad that even into the 2nd full year of production that this type of ignorance is still out there.

When the current platform Focus was new in 2011, they wanted $3k over on each one. lolololol. Both service and sales are just terrible there.

Crud, I wish I would have known about that deal. I would have bought 10 of them at that price to store and take to a collector car auction in 20 years, when they'd all be worth at least $30K more than I paid for them.

You can skip Vegas if you're looking for MSRP.
I believe all the cars are 50 states. I bought my GTR from a Ford dealer in AZ. When the thing was on the train they did not even have a buyer for it. It was being delivered and was theirs to sell. I checked the emissions decal on the car and it is 50 state legal.

Do we know for certain that this is BS? Is it impossible to receive or have a conditional allocation? Could a R allocation be changed to a non R if someone really wanted too?

I thought I saw somewhere that it was possible to order an R and it would just be kicked back if the allocation didn't support it.

From my understanding there is no conditional allocations. I had dealerships tell me the same thing, and just ends up being BS. Oh our allocation can be for a GT350 or an R. Ask them to check with their Ford Rep and they have always come back saying oh we can just build the GT350. They need to be allocated an R allocation to get an R. The system will let them put in an order for an R but without an allocation it will just sit there without it being picked up and built by Ford.

There are R and non-R allocations. Unfortunately the order system doesn't know which the dealer has, only the regional rep knows when it comes time to pull the order for build. The situation you described is when a dealer didnt have the R allocation to start with, ordered it as the R, and had to configure it as a non-R when the regional rep pulled the order and discovered it was not a legit R allocation
