My bad. I didn't know about it being hand built. Not a fan of cylinder deactivation, or the fact that they use Corvette motors in SUVs and trucks.
The LT4 is a 650 HP supercharged V8 ... not used in anything but the Vette.

Just started using in other vehicles - Caddy in 2016 and Camaro in 2017. It was exclusive to the Vette before that.

Don't be surprised if the Voodoo gets used in something besides the GT350 in the future.
It won't. Emission standards will make sure of that.

Supercharged Voodoo for the GT500? ... time will tell. That would be an application besides the GT350.
It won't be a voodoo at that point, most definitely a standard cross plane crank. I agree they will reuse the block and head at some point, but the character and sound is tied to the FPC.

At that point, it's no longer a Voodoo right? ;)
It would be a supercharged Voodoo ... call it what you want (I'm sure the name by Ford would change), but it's still the same basic design with the addition of a SC.

What I'm saying is don't be surprised if Ford uses the same basic 5.2L FPC out of the GT350 in something else like the GT500.

CARB, the EPA, etc...

Pretty damn stupid that a company like Ferrari has to turbocharge their cars just to keep up with emissions standards. They sell about 7K cars worldwide that get driven a few thousand miles a year. If every Ferrari got 100 mpg it would make basically zero difference in overall global emissions.

Fortunately, Ford sells a lot of other cars that get good mileage so we can get away with this thirsty 5.2 FPC as it doesn't impact CAFE much at all. Chevy sells a lot of Corvettes so it does likely have an impact on hitting CAFE targets.

OK, rant over. Back to our regularly scheduled programming of angry posts...
Ferrari's problem isn't CARB or the EPA, and therefore has nothing to do with fuel economy. It's all about the EU CO2 targets.

It won't. Emission standards will make sure of that.
I thought emissions standards were across entire fleet ranges. In which case, a small amount of GT350 (or other Voodoo powered products) won't greatly affect Ford's status with the EPA or CARB.

That would fall into the "etc" and same argument applies - who cares about a handful of supercars?

It isn't just emissions either. Safety regulations also killed the Carrera GT early and is the reason the Lotus Elise/Exige stopped being sold in the US. My overarching point is that to treat limited productions cars like a Camry is silly.

Let us have our fire-breathing death machines.

CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) regulations are indeed across the corporate fleet so limited production cars don't move the needle much. I'm not sure we'll see a FPC engine in anything else but unlikely that emissions is a big factor in the decision.

Just did some calling and searching again on an 17 R. I am done searching now. I think the cheapest I got quoted was 30k over. Highest was 60k over, that means I could have 2 none R's for that, haha! What a joke, only way I will get one if one of my friends pulls through for me I guess otherwise I am good with mine. Good luck everyone!

I hear you, I almost wish they had a non carbon fiber rim variant of the R, I want the ride height splitter and wing as well as some of the other changes but would settle for a forged or spun forged wheel with mid-line Magna ride programming.

Oh well. Maybe in 10 years 1 will pop up used. If they are still even legal. Elections have consequences.

I think the member VooDoo out the R splitter and the R springs on his non-R.
