You can request a flatbed when you call for a tow. I believe that's listed in the owners manual as the only way to tow these cars.

I tried to use Ford Road side assistances, after the 3rd time the recording asked, I’m being serious, “ if I’m showing signs of COVED-19” hang up and call a medical professional “ I quit and went to AAA.

I also would have probably requested a flat bed but the tow was so short in distance that I agreed to it. After seeing the hook up, driver was really good about my concerns. In my younger days I’d and have pushed cars farther that the tow distance to dealership! Lol

JB: MOST happy to hear that it was a non-event. Close one and you're probably fortunate to have been in a good area for tow services.

Two days after I got my '14, I came out from a medical appointment to a flat. Big ol' nail in the left rear. Tried in vain for HOURS to get a flatbed with no success. Ultimately, I picked up a patch kit, grabbed my DC compressor, and I was able to get her home. Even then, Ford didn't have the mounting equipment to handle the wheel and tire change so the Service Manager called a friend at the Beemer joint who did have the machine, and Ford paid them to mount the new tire. Even so, it took a week to get the new one.

So, ever since, I've had this nagging pin prick in the back of my head about needing a tow, glad yours worked out.

I also got a really good laugh out of your comment about pushing cars in your younger days. I wonder just how many of us did that ROUTINELY back in the day, huh? <grinning>

Now, go enjoy that Florida sunshine and TRY to forget about this crisis, at least for awhile. :-)

I hear ya, been there, done that haha.

At least it was a "quickie".
