Put my new shifter in two weeks ago, but with all the rain and mud wasn't able to try it out until yesterday. Wow! Is probably the best description of the difference it made. Shifts are precise and short with no doubt what gear I'm in.
Install took me an afternoon and morning on jack stands only because it was a rainy weekend with no reason to hurry. Didn't have any trouble by myself with the upper long bolt, it cleared easily with a slight tug on the transmission. My clearance was tight around the drive shaft and it was a lot easier for me to remove the final piece of the stock shifter up through the floorboard shifter hole. The rubber boot was the hard part for me and I finally adjusted the reverse lockout, removed the 4 Allen screws and top part of the shifter, put the boot on and then held it out of the way while tightening the 4 Allen screws.
Thought I measured carefully and put all four rubber washers included under the shifter boot and snapped it in place. Found the shift ball sat too high and would have had to take the console apart again to remove a washer. My shift knob was already cutout for the reverse lockout so I removed the billet spacer and screwed the ball down and backed off a turn with blue locktite. The boot tucks into the hole of the shift knob so I ended up with a shorter short shifter. I'm glad I made that mistake because it feels comfortable where my hand rests.
