Not in the flood zone, but it’s amazing how bad it is in certain areas in the hill country. Feel horrible for the families who have lost loved ones. Especially horrible about the children.

One thing about Texas is that people really band together to help out. Have seen this during this as well.

Harrowing times are when humans actually show each other humanity. I am in the UK but a neighbour of mine has a daughter staying at one of the other camps. The camp have been in touch and told her that all their children are OK, which is a blessing, but you are right, too many families have lost loved ones.

yeah, officials said tonight that the confirmed fatalities is over 40, with something like 27 campers still missing. Sobering news for sure.

Horiffying when you think how quickly life can be taken away. God bless Texas in these trying times.

When flash flooding starts, a small, nearly dry stream begins to pick up and watching it happen usually takes you by surprise. At that point seconds count as outrunning the water becomes impossible and it will knock you down and then roll you along until you are able to claw your way to high ground, climb a tree, or unforrunately get tangled in debris and drown. The folks who teach survival classes told us stories that made folks sick to their stomach.

It will be a very long recovery effort and animals will find many of those who didn't make it. Our prayers go out to those left in mourning. I cry for the children.
