The funny thing was, I was rereading my Window sticker, hoping to see Magne-Ride on it. My car feels so comfortable to drive (even on long trips), I just presumed I might already have Magne-Ride.
Now I am looking forward to riding in someone's car that has it.

It’s there. :like:

Ford changed the transmission gear ratios in 2018 making 4th rather than 5th 1:1. This was done to avoid the gas guzzler tax. But it made the gearing much longer meaning the car has to work harder. I went to the drag strip and you finish the 1/4 mile in 3rd. If Ford had maintained the 17 and down gearing the car would be much quicker off the line. As it is you need to really launch at a high rpm to get it going if you are drag racing. Even road racing the lack of torque and long gearing hurts the quick acceleration through the curves. At least leaving it naturally aspirated. 2 over drive gears seen silly to me. I really liked the gearing in my 2011 Brembo car. 373s with good gear spacing.

I will say the transmission in my 19 Bullitt is much better in shifting, etc, though

From my experience, I can offer the following:
1. If you can afford it, get what you want. But remember what Spock said,
2. A good dealer can usually find what you want and have it brought in. That might cost a little more than if they had it on their lot, depending on their inventory, whether they have to swap one of their cars for the one brought in, and how far away the other dealer is. That's what I ended up doing so I could get exactly what I wanted (brought one from NJ to VA). The car was a 2019 and I bought it when 2018's had good discounts but not great selections. Also, a special order 2019 would have cost me more than bringing down the NJ car.
3. If you live in the country, and especially if you have older eyes with their typical slow pupils, consider the Safe and Smart package. The auto high beams work great. They react far quicker than you can. They free-up your brain and hands to concentrate on carving curves, etc. I'm generally against giving up driving decisions to programmers, but I find the auto high beams to be quicker and more reliable at that function than I am.
4. If I were going to upgrade, here's my selection: https://www.tedbrittchantilly.com/new-Chantilly-2019-Ford-Mustang-GT+Premium-1FATP8FF9K5189360

I wouldn't buy a new Mustang at the moment, for a few reasons
  • It seems pretty obvious that a lot of people are not in the market for a brand new car with the current state of the economy. So it's pretty safe to say that what dealers have on the lot will most likely not sell that fast and if you can, you should wait for a chance to get huge deals on these cars once productions is going on again and dealer have to get their lots clear.
  • MY2021 will most likely still be a refresh and the Mach 1 model (if it's not delayed because of Covid-19). It's pretty unsure what Ford will actually improve with the new Mustang, but it's pretty safe to say that SYNC4 will be a thing. So if you want to order a new car that maybe won't arrive until october, I would wait until it's clear what the refresh will deliver and then order your 2021 Mustang build with all the new stuff you might want to have. If Mach 1 lands in the same price point of the Bullitt, it could end up in a huge buyers remorse if you go for Bullitt and the Mach 1 will be the overall better car.
  • With a new model coming up, this will also effect prices on dealer lots and used cars. Current models will lose value once the refresh is announced, so be ready for that loss of value if you buy one now, or you could wait for better deals on the current models.
TLDR: Current state of the Economy and the upcoming refresh will most likely end in great deals in the upcoming months.

But of course, life is short. So if you want to have an awesome car right now, go for it.

OP just input, the PP2 will fill the bill completely, PP1 is an almost. I firmly believe special ordering a car is the best practice.

The wait is worth every second, to have exactly what you want, as it should be.

Putting out 50k, and then forced to settle for options or a color not wanted. Cause someone has ants in the pants, eager to fill the driveway.

Is stupid, sure they yap about I got whatever instead of, is someone trying to convince themselves. That the toad they ended up with was the right LOL deal.

Only time to settle for a car not as you like or equipped is buying used, certainly not a new one.

Some very valid points list here...
