I've had this sound before and tried many things to diagnose it but it went away before I could find it.
Well, its back. I've taken the belt off, moved pulleys, re-torqued damper, ran engine without blower accessories and everything. I've got a feeling it's the A/C compressor but won't have the time to look at it in depth until Monday.
It's hard to tell if it increases with RPM because of the blower.
I've checked the oil in engine and S/C, and checked compression.
Any suggestions? Here's the video.

I'd have to drive it an hour south to get a dealership that wouldn't bitch about the mods and even then, I don't trust them. I'll start going through stuff on my day off (Monday) but just wondering if someone else had this issue or the sound is familiar. :ford:

I assume we're talking about the diesel-like clattering sound? Where does the sound seem to be coming from, or can you tell? Is your oil pressure OK?

Yeah, it sounds kind of like a rod knock but i don't believe it is. I can hear it then it goes away for a few seconds and comes back. I've went WOT with zero issues. It sounds like it's coming from the bottom of the engine bay. Oil pressure all good.

Hearing it in-person is always different than even the best audio captured on a video. It sounds distinctly "ticking", but that's on the video.

Have you gotten under the car while it's running to verify that it's coming from the bottom of the motor? If the noise is originating from the crank/rod area, it should be easily heard from underneath. IMO if you can for sure isolate the general area it's coming from, that should narrow done what the source could possibly be.

It's gotta be from one of the Paxton supplied pulleys.
That's what I thought before, so I eliminated the SC system and it was still there. I'm going to route the small belt again and find out.

Run it without a belt for a couple seconds. See if the sounds it's there

The noise did get a little quieter when you turn it off.
I got under the car, cut the belt and it sound went away. I was going to put the main drive belt back on, and noticed one of the bolts for the AC side of the damper didn't look good. The MMR damper bolts are broken for the AC pulley. So, I'm going to see what MMR will do for me, since this is an issue with their damper that has happened before with customers.

I should of known better when buying from MMR. I've always disliked their products and their "proof" on parts. They told me there's nothing they will do, and I need to contact Romac. I asked If this is why they removed it off their site, and his response was "Everyone here use's that on our cars and never had an issue. You just installed it wrong.".... :frusty:

I wouldn't buy a keychain from these guys. I am not even sure how they are still in business. Haven't heard a single good thing about them.

Out of curiosity how are they saying you installed it incorrectly? Or is that just their excuse to not claim liability.
