Terrible instrument cluster squeak

I'm experiencing a really annoying high pitched squeak from the plastic trim around the digital instrument cluster. Seem to be a lot of flex in the left side, right is pretty stiff.

Anyone experienced this or have any ideas?

It's variable in how bad it is, sometimes nothing and sometimes unbearable, especially driving over any uneven road surface. Seems to be worse when cold.

i've done the retrofit of the DD on mine and it rattles really badly, i've narrowed it down to the chrome trim that surrounds the trim of the cluster, i plan to use double sided tape to stop it rattling.

Doesn't seem to be the silver bit, that would be too easy! It's the black trim that surrounds/is in front of the screen. Going to have to remove and investigate.
