Don't forget the Mag Ride Suspension that comes with the Track Pack.
I was wrong, Mag Ride comes with the Tech. Base GT350 does not.

I'll echo what most have said in that you can definitely track your tech pack. That said, the grip this car has works the diff harder than a GT PP, and it has more power going through it...i.e. more heat.

I think you'll be fine. I would be more concerned about running all those extra coolers on the street all the time. I know Nashville is warm compared to Minnesota, but it still is cool quite often. I'd rather have to change the fluids a little more often because they got warm rather than having the transmission and rear diff run cold for all those street miles. Changing the fluids is beneficial anyway.
These cars are extensively tested in weather tunnels, freeze chambers, and long snow durability tests.

Given a sufficient "warm-up" the thermostats and programming will not allow the fluids in an R or TrackPack to run so cold to cause damage on the street or in freezing temperatures.

Well that makes me feel a lot better. Now I can stop worrying if I made the wrong choice.

Can't wait till she gets here! I may just end up putting in some nice aftermarket seats, depending on price, and availability of the recaros.

Recaros, the 350 versions that is, will likely be $3k a pair. If you're gonna get a seat just for tracking, look elsewheres, IMHO.

You're probably right, but if I could get the factory recaros for around 3 grand, I'm sure I could sell my tech pack seats on eBay for a pretty penny. If I were to go aftermarket, I wouldn't want to get rid of the original seats. So it might cost about the same in the end.

The first think you might want to consider is dropping a few hundred on a set of competition belts to hold you tight in the Tech seats. That may be all you need, especially if you're as uncomfortable in the GT 350 Recaros as I am.

We'll see what Hack says after a commute to work in -50 wind chill. :eyebulge:

rear diff uses an electric pump that I'm sure is controlled by thermostat. While I'm not sure if the transmission cooler is mechanical or electric pump, but its easier to deal with. Just block the front inlet to the fenders (oil cooler on one side, trans on the other).

I really want the seats to save some weight, and for aesthetics.

a lot of the bigger guys complain that the recaros in the Gt are uncomfortable, but I find them quite comfortable.

The recaros in the base/track/R are both more comfortable and hold you better than the GT recaros.

We've only been down into the single digits so far this winter with no super cold days, but I can already tell you the heated seats are really great. :)

The transmission gets pretty stiff for the first few shifts when it's single digits outside.

It's not just bigger guys. At 5'10" and 170, the GT 350 Recaros are extremely uncomfortable for me because I have wide shoulders and the upper bolsters dig into my sides. If Ford had made the upper bolsters adjustable, I might have ordered a Track Package instead of a Tech Package.

They break in. I drove a track pack with about 2500 miles on it, and after 2 hrs I was still very comfortable. I'm 6'1, 245 lbs, broad shoulders.

I drove 4 hot laps in a Track Package and rode for another one in an R, and I ended up with bolster bruises on both sides. My advice (which is almost impossible to follow, considering the limited supply of cars): If you have any doubts, try 'em before you buy 'em.

I'll be just fine in a Tech Package with competition belts, plus my buns will be appropriately temperature controlled year-round.
