Tech pack track capable?

I've had a real hard time choosing between tech and track pack. Finally ordered today and opted for the tech pack mainly because I wanted the 8" touchscreen display with sync 3. However I do plan on tracking this car at least a few times this year. I figured I would add the track pack spoiler, so from there it's really just the coolers and the seats that im missing from the track pack. Oh and the track pack I believe has stiffer front springs as well but, I'd get aftermarket or fp springs anyway.


So my question is, are the coolers really necessary for a few, just for fun track days? And if so, will they be available for purchase through ford performance? Also, will the gt350 recaros be Available for purchase anywhere? I'd say those recaros were the hardest thing to give up when deciding to go tech.

If you're not tracking the car but a few times a year and not competitively I think you will be just fine with the tech pack. Exactly what I ordered.

The tech pack also includes the front springs. I also ordered the tech pack and I am planning on track days and auto cross a couple times per month. You should be OK if you're not racing for hours on end. Watch your oil temp to determine if you need to add the oil cooler. The trans and rear end will be fine for occasional track use. The 10 quarts of oil you are carrying should help a lot to stabilize the temperature.
The sport seats should also work OK for the track.

You're right, I just checked the ordering guide, it does come with the front springs. So it's really just the spoiler, coolers, and seats...

Remember Ford has added the engine oil cooler to ALL cars. It's located on the drivers side in the lower front grille and under the turn signal light.

Tech has an oil cooler too, that's the most important one anyway

I think you'll be fine. I would be more concerned about running all those extra coolers on the street all the time. I know Nashville is warm compared to Minnesota, but it still is cool quite often. I'd rather have to change the fluids a little more often because they got warm rather than having the transmission and rear diff run cold for all those street miles. Changing the fluids is beneficial anyway.

You'll be fine. Most track sessions are barely long enough for the Track Pack to even start working its cooling magic.

Not sure where this idea is coming from that the Tech Pack is questionable on the track because it doesn't have the word "Track" strapped to it. It's kinda festering out of control. If a base model GT can track for 15 minutes, so can a 350. And it does. 20 - 25 minutes is the threshold Ford has said the 350 has absolutely zero cooling issues whatsoever.

They are not. I've tracked cars for years without stuff like that.

and even better the GT350 has temp sensors to tell you when the heat is an issue. So you can pull into the pits early instead of into the garage with a cooked driveline later.

I really wish my 04 STi had a trans cooler stock. The Japanese ones did come with it, but I guess to save money it was deleted. The front LSD in that thing would cook the trans fluid in a hurry if you were driving it hard. Downside to having a very aggressive torque biasing diff sharing fluid with the rest of the transmission.

Don't forget the Mag Ride Suspension that comes with the Track Pack.

Yeah short track session shouldn't be an issue without the coolers. I managed to heat up the differential a fair amount by driving hard on twisty mountain roads for about an hour (track pack) so if you add coolers that might be the one to do first. Trans stayed really cool throughout but that may be because the cooler is bigger and front mounted, and it was 30f outside.

All GT350 other than the base have mag suspension. Tech, Track, R, and R + electronics all have it.
