So I'm in the market to buy the new Mustang and I'm checking Ford inventory to see if I find 'the one' since I don't have time to special order it. This week I'll be done with finals then I need to travel back home (Kuwait) in a month.

I talked to several salesmen in Indiana, where I live right now, plus Ohio and Michigan. I asked them if there's any way to buy the car and export it without the need of paying its taxes since I will not register the car in here, it will not be used in the US and I'll be paying import taxes anyway when it arrives. Most salesmen couldn't find a solid answer for this and the others insist that I need to pay for the car, tax, drive it out and deal with exporting by myself.

Any help from export, tax, title experts in here would be much appreciated!

I found this document on the internet: how-to-buy-a-car-in-usa-and-ship-it-overseas.pdf

It says, "International buyers do not have to pay any sales tax in the United States!".

I think if you buy it while you are physically located here, you need to pay sales tax. But if you buy it from overseas, you don't.

Look for dealers in Oregon. No Sales Tax there.
