T304 vs T409 Weight

I hear T304 is lighter than T409. In a full cat-back setup, would the weight be a lb or 2, or more significant?

They should be similar in weight. The only difference is 304 has a higher percentage of chromium and nickel compared to the 409. 304 typically has 20% chromium and 10% nickel and 409 uses around 10% chromium and a lot less nickel, but only enough of both to help ward off corrosion...not the best for salty roads.

304 is a substantially better product if you consider salt on the roads.

Also, 304 is considerably harder so it is not as easy to work with.

That is the truth brother, this is why there are so few manufactures that use 304SS, we take it a step further and ONLY use US sourced 304SS to ensure the highest quality.
