My Sync3 screen of my 2017 Ecoboost Convertible no longer responds to touch commands. Voice commands and input from radio knobs and steering wheel buttons are fine. It’s just when I try to tap the screen with my finger that nothing works.

Cannot do a master reset since I don't get any reaction when pressing any commands on the display.

Sounds like the touchscreen is bad, which a thin wire mesh that overlays the display.

A few things you can try, but likely futile:
  1. Ensure nothing else is "touching" or depressing the screen around the edges from trim, etc.
  2. Give the screen a good cleaning with a glass cleaner.
  3. Perform a Hard reset by disconnecting the battery.
  4. Here's a link to resetting all the versions of SYNC, some of which are not touchscreen... maybe one of these options or leads you to a dash settings menu: https://www.ford.com/support/how-tos/sync/troubleshooting/how-do-i-perform-a-sync-master-reset/
  5. On the steering wheel, try holding Volume down and Right buttons:

If you need to replace the screen...
I am not sure about compatibility with your Ecoboost, but Midway has used SYNC screens: https://midwaymustang.com/collections/2015-radios-subwoofers-amps

Good luck!
