Ok, let's suppose that we have a proper audio setup. Upgraded speakers, some morels, focals, you name it. Proper DSP and amplifiers.
But all this will not work as it can without proper sound source. My friend has a DSP that can directly get signal from a player and with god hires player sound is far more superior, than passing through sync.

If we lok at pipeline "iphone with loseless audio (tidal or vox playing flac) → carplay → sync → output to DSP" the signal is digital and loseless untill it reaches sync's acm where converts to analog and then is outputed to a dsp and this is the place where quality is ruined.

So the question is: do anybody have an idea about possibility and implementation of internal DAC upgrade in sync's ACM? Yes, by altering board and chip.
On chinese android head units people do this, but here — it's a big question

It's an easy question to answer. The answer is no. You won't find any easy way to do this without modifying board level components. I am will to bet the DAC is a custom FPGA or other part not available off the shelf. Then good luck desoldering and putting the new chip on the board.

Just load up a good USB flash drive with flac files and you will have a source that will be pretty hard to beat. If that doesn't float your boat then use an external digial media player such as an Astell & Kern connected directly to an aftermarket audio system.

I use FLAC on iphone (via VOX player or tidal streaming), through carplay it should be the same as directly from usb, I suppose. Or not?

external digial media player such as an Astell & Kern connected directly to an aftermarket audio system — yes, this is a valid way, but it sacrifices the convenience and this is what I want to solve in ideal world: get maximum sound source quality keeping convenience

Well, I was thinking about this =) maybe putting there some sabre, but dunno about compatibility. So thought maybe someone here was freak enough to investigate this already :D
Another way is to catch digital output from APIM and pass it to a proper aftermarket dac/dsp. This would be the best way I think, but I have no idea how to get it :(
