sync update question

Got a notice today about a Sync update. I have never done this in my 21 Mach 1. After I connected to my home wi-fi, I noticed this thing seems rather large. Will this update while the car is turned off or do I need to sit out there with it in accessory mode to do this?

It will piece it together and eventually get it done. What that means, is it will pick up where it left off if you prefer to let it update after having driven the car and back in the garage, etc. The other option is yes you can go out and put it in accessories mode every 15 min or so. I would hook it up to a trickle charger if you choose this route.

Just put it on a USB stick then drive the car for 30min till its done. I literally flash mine either heading to or home from work. Its already done before I reach my exit unless its a Maps update. Those are huge.
