Sync 3 upgrade installed.....now how to update it

Being the Sync 3 is in a vehicle it didnt come in is there a difference in how I upgrade the version?

Its out of a 2016 GT but now in my fathers 2015 F150. (had apim programmed for the f150 by someone for me)It's the old Sync 3 1.0 version and I'd like to get it to at least 2.3 or whichever has the Andriod Auto.

Just need a usb flash drive with the upgrade file. There are directions on here.

Thanks for the reply. I should have been more specific. I know to use a usb drive to update it. What I don't know is where I can get the correct files being it's an older 1.0 version and not originally installed in this 2015 F150. So I don't believe I can just go to the Ford owner website and put in my vin since it'd try to give me an update for the old Sync 2/My Ford Touchis my understanding?

Wonder if I could just go to the Ford website and enter in a 2016 mustang vin with sync 3/nav(what it came out of) and get the correct file?
