Sync 4 is a hardware upgrade from Sync 3, this isn't possible.

@MrMike is correct. A Sync 3 to Sync 4 is going to require changing your screen and other components. I would suggest reaching out to @breeves002 as he is our resident expert on Sync updates. You might also want to move your post to this sub forum.

Just an FYI, there are kits out there that have all the components needed for that swap. If memory serves they're about $700. I don't know if that includes any needed programming. Type sync 3 to sync 4 into any search engine and you will find tons of options from Amazon and many others.

From what I've seen it's not possible to swap sync 3 for sync 4. At least not in a plug and play way like you can do with a 2-3 swap

Better voice recognition and, if the hardware upgrade supports it, wireless CarPlay.

Great, yeah Breeves helped me out when I changed my cluster to digital. Had to do a little Re programming on forscan and needed his help. I seen something on a website. https://intelligent1tech.com/produc...ord~md_mustang~yr_2015&variant=44037200707824
They have the screen and kit to install. I think I just need the screen though because I’ve already done the upgrade to sync3. It came from factory with sync 2 and was annoyed that Ford put out
sync 3 in the 2016 models. Which supported car play.

My Bronco has Sync 4 and my Mustang has Sync 3. The only things I like more on the Bronco are the built-in wireless carplay and larger screen. I don't care about any other features because I use the physical buttons for them.

That’s all I would care about to. I bought a wireless CarPlay adapter that I have plugged into the usb in the armrest so it would connect that way.

If that is all then it's probably not worth it. I upgraded my Sync 3 to support wireless CarPlay/Android Auto with an extra $100 dongle.
I’ve done that also. Was wondering if an upgrade was possible.
