Every time I try to install the Sync 2.2 Update on my gt premium with Navi, I keep running into the same problem.

Installation Failed

The installation has run out of space or does not work with this version.

I have tried using different formats of the USB (exFat, Fat32), I still get the same results. I am using a 32gb usb. I downloaded files from owner.ford.com as well as tried using the files provided in the forums here.

Is anyone else having this problem?

I had similar issues. Got frustrated with it and took my to the local Ford Dealership.
They installed it and no charge !!

You don't need a 32 gig drive, but if you're using an apple pc you have to use a special program to unpack the files correctly. Apple screws it up, which should no shocker since it's apple :D

I was having problems on windows 10 with the default unzip program and it worked after i changed unzip programs. I also bought a new USB stick just in case.

You shouldn't need a 32Gig USB stick, it's less than a 2Gig file. I used a generic USB stick that I got free about 10yrs ago and formatted using FAT32. It took about 28 minutes to update sync with nav. This is what mine looked like after I moved the update to USB stick.. I'm running windows 10 on my laptop.

Nope, it's too big.
According to this thread, it is available via WiFi:

https://media.ford.com/content/ford...tware-update-apple-android-2016-vehicles.html

Receiving updates over Wi-Fi

Though Ford has been issuing SYNC upgrades since 2009, this is the first time the company is offering an update via Wi-Fi. In Wi-Fi-enabled vehicles with Automatic System Updates turned on within SYNC 3, the system will periodically connect to a customer’s designated Wi-Fi network to check for updates. If an update is available, the system automatically downloads the update in the background over a period of time without any customer interaction. And SYNC 3 is designed to perform the update as long as Wi-Fi is connected prior to the vehicle turning off, therefore there is no need to keep the vehicle running for the update to take place.
