Hi

Ive just been on the ford uk website to check if there is a software update available for my sync 2. There is, so ive downloaded it and followed the instructions on extracting it to a usb stick. However i have tried several times in the usb slot in the car, and it just keeps saying bad installation file.

Has anybody else had the same issue?

These are the instructions ive used, and the software version im using is SYNC2_753314234_UPDATE

I don't know about the Sync2 but when I did my Sync3 update 2 weeks ago the instructions said to format the stick as "exFAT", which is a less common format. When I started the car and inserted the stick it took almost 5 minutes to start uploading.

So I'm saying check your format and try again.

EDITED to add: Welcome to M6G!

Make sure your usb stick is formatted to FAT32 or EXFAT32 (if the drive is larger than 32gb) . If that doesn’t work, try a different usb port.
