I like to install swift front springs (279lbs) up front on the Shelby and wanted to know what could be the drop on the Shelby? I am having custom rear springs made for the rear of the Shelby (1300lbs) and wanted to go more rate up front than frpp 240lbs I currently have.

Same as the GT... not a sigificant weight or suspension design difference on the GT350.

Not sure that 240 vs. 279 is going to impress you, especially with a 1300 rear spring. I would be thinking more in the 300-350 range, personally, for that front spring.

I thought so also. I will have to look for the original rev A (300lbs) BMR springs.

Where are you getting custom springs done? I'd actually like to have stiffer springs made for my Durango, which feels like it needs maybe 20-30% more rate not feel like a boat.

Also, if you want a 300 rate front spring and/or want to continue experimenting, why not just get a coilover for the front? Do you have magnaride or something?

Niz55 what are the details on the swift springs?

Are they claiming a drop and true linear spring rate?

Have pictures of the springs themselves?

Surely they are a dual rate.

Hypercoil. Pair for the rear is $1120 and I will be running adjuster to adjust the ride height.

I do have magnaride so no go with the coilover.

Local guy with a Shelby is running 1300 lbs hypercoil and I drove his car for good amount and the rear feels awesome. He is running gt350r up front and I definitely think you need more rate on the front to match the rear.

The car felt absolutely great and super FIRM. Rebound on the rear was actually pretty damn good. Car never hopped left or right going over bumps.

Ohh I see. I was looking at the spring chart and it was mentioned they were linear with 279lbs. Time to search for a used pair of rev A BMR.

Yeah, the Rev B you had before would be a better choice than those Swifts. Essentially similar springs, but our Rev B had a second rate 20~ higher.

I think it was you that didn't like the Rev B, so I'd definitely recommend going with a full linear wound Niz.

Swifts are linear at curb/compression - so basically linear except when the weight of the inside wheel side of the is coming up in turns . Call Swift; they’re happy to explain the spring design. I felt they needed a stiffer rear spring. The front was awesome. A dual rate has obvious benefits for keeping the car flat in turns. Front and back I have dual rates... gonna need to set up a table at a college campus with a sign that says “Dual rate springs are great, change my mind,” to try and convince me otherwise! Haha.

Yes I didn't like the rev b at all. It lowered the car way too much.

Do you have a set of rev a or do you know which vendor carries the A version?
