I've been meaning to upgrade my exhaust. I don't want to spend a ton but I'd like something throaty without drone. I was going to get a LM2 but the SVE is in the same price range and it seems like it'd be similar sounding.

Has anyone heard both in person? What are the differences?

Thanks

The SLP LM2 axle back is a deep and throaty sound and not as loud as the SVE which also has a deep no rasp sound.

All of these look the same as the SVE:

I purchased the CJPP unbranded and happy with the results. In addition, the tips are welded on instead of clamped. I tried them with an h-pipe also, to loud for me and went back with the stock resonator.

Install and sound clips from my journal:

Wow! Thanks for sharing.

So you went with the SVE axle backs. Sounds nice in your clips. Is there any drone?

Thanks!

I have SLP LM2 with a res delete H-Pipe. Sounds great, it's not wake the dead loud, but it's definitely got a nice deep rumble, and it still makes its presence know when you gun it. It's definitely a cop friendly exhaust if that is a concern too.

When we first tried them with the h-pipe both my wife and I really liked the sound of the CJPP unbranded from the outside of the car. The Oklahoma Mustang Club has over 400 members and we've heard quite a few different set-ups and these were the deepest we have heard. Dave from CJPP describes them as being close the the Roush and some say the same, only deeper and a little quieter.

We were at our limit with the sound in the cabin with the h-pipe set up so we put a resonated set back on, just right for me. In addition, there was some resonance under a load. I have no drone with just the axle backs and most report the same. There a a couple folks that now report some drone on this thread. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=94357

Most of the reviews from American Muscle, CJPP, LMR, and NXT Step Performance report no drone.
Thanks for sharing.

I've read that the sound tube needs to be taken out as well. I'm wondering if leaving that in can cause the illusion of drone?

I'll have to give that thread a look.

Thanks again!

Your welcome. I like the sound in the cabin with the sound tube open so I can hear the intake sounds of the Big Mouth Ram Air Intake (awesome), my wife likes it closed. A valve lets you try it out both ways or to show others the difference.
Yeah I saw that in the other 16 page thread. I haven't ripped out my sound tube yet but it seems like the vast majority of owners do.

In that other thread after reading all the replies it seems like the SVE kit will be the way I go... seems like exactly what I'm looking for. Just surprised me to see that it's $300-$315 now and back in Feb was $267 and lower.

EDIT: I guess I can't complain. With LMR6 (current 6% off code) it brings the total to $282 shipped.

Thanks

There has been a couple sales from CJPP with the lower price. You could pm Dave at CJPP and see what he can do on both sets you are looking at.
But unless you do a ~15% discount (to account for the sales tax I don't have to pay from LMR) LMR is probably still going to be cheaper.

Can never hurt to ask though...I'll give it a shot.

Thanks

Coming back to this..seems like what this does is blocks the airflow which eliminates the sound from being created/transmitted. I don't see them for sale individually online. I see packs of 5 for $25 and packs of 25 for $125. Where did you buy yours?

Also, does the sound tube make is sound that good when combined with a deeper/throaty exhaust?? I see most people just rip them out and plug them with duct tape and a chair cap.

Thanks!

You can find the valves on eBay or Amazon. Although the seller I purchased from no longer has a listing here's one for you, https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25MM-Ant...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 You might find a cheaper price if you shop around. You can also find Antelco valves at some irrigation stores. In my area they carried Antelco but not in the 25mm OD size.

It would be up to the driver to determine whether they like the engine music piped into the cabin or not. It does make a difference with the valve closed especially when the engine is under a load. Many on the forum pull them off but I like having the ability to control the sound with the valve.
I see where you're coming from. I'm guessing tube vs. no tube wouldn't be significant enough to show up on a video clip. But I'd love to hear the difference. Either way, I'm not buying the axle backs until Memorial Day sales show up. So I have time.

Thanks!
