I already do that. If the OP spun out at 20mph in 2nd gear, it somewhat worries me. Now, he said he hit the throttle exiting the turn? As in a blip of the throttle or ease into it? I would imagine the car would be fine if you slowly got back into acceleration.

I've been driving mine in 20F weather. I even have Go-Pro footage on the second day of ownership (picked it up in 40F Rain) of my car on cold tires at 20MPH sliding sideways in third from a very light roll on in 40F temps. The tires were cold. The tires get very sticky after a few minutes of driving, even in the 20's my tires pick up every pebble and piece of sand. I have even intentionally slid the front end on a back road that was wet and 30's. Completely controllable. These cars are so well balanced and predictable they are a joy to drive.

The only reason I may consider buying snow tires is because one of my local tracks purchased snow making and grooming equipment and runs their auto-cross track every weekend through out the winter. The program is run by one of my Skip Barber Race School Instructors.

@ Tim Hillard.
You see, you are use to Mustangs. You know how to drive them. I would say that there are a lot of new Mustang owners now out there. I for my part never drove a Mustang in snow before. My convertible was a summer only car. But I drove and drive a lot RWD cars in the winter - with the most fun getting from a SMART Cdi - cornering the curves like a "Michael Schumacher" in his best times. :D

I drove my 2015 EB PP on snow 20 miles through the city to the tire shop and the next day 30 miles over the HWY back with no problems.
But if people coming from FWD 100 HP cars and A/S tires - to RWD 420 HP - something could happen easily.

Understood, which also puts 100% responsibility on the adult making the purchasing decision.

Edit: Technically my first Mustang, everything has been RWD V6/V8's except for two Escorts. I just equipped them accordingly for the intended use. I've purchase countless used snow tires over the years. I don't blame the tire manufacturer when I run them year round and they feel squishy and wear quickly in August though.

I'm just going to drive my daily (awd) driver when theres inclement weather and play it as careful as possible. I am a new mustang owner (new to rwd, too) but not to high HP cars. The whole n/a v8 rwd thing has taken some getting used to, but after reading threads like this one, it makes me THAT much more mindful of my driving.

I'm split on the PP tires issue.

One on hand people should know this is a TRACK setup, hence performance package. It is not meant for the snow/ice and cold temps knowing that these are summer only tires. Im pretty sure this is well-known from anyone who did their research before buying the car.

On the other hand Ford knows it sells to the whole US where 98% or more of the land area see temps these tires cannot operate within normal tolerances without sliding. Maybe Ford should have gone with a tire more towards the all-season category to avoid legal issues/liability; but then you'd have complainers too that the tires arent "performance."

In the end, Ford can't fix stupid (not saying the OP or anyone here, but in general seeing as this will happen more that isn't reported) when people refuse to get a 2nd set of tires knowing that these are summer tires and try to run them in 50 degrees or colder, or in the ice/snow. If you bought a performance package and live somewhere that gets to 50-60 degrees, or wind chills that drop those temps at the road surface, buy a 2nd set of tires. The $600 or so for the winter tires is cheaper than an accident.

It sucks for all the people I see wrecking their rides, but to try and blame the traction control system or the summer tire that you purposefully sought out when you opted for the performance pack is irresponsible. Not all of this is aimed at OP, but unfortunately I've just seen a number of these pop up lately, and almost without fail the person tries to blame the accident on some other factor than them. It's a car, it's not automated and it will only respond to your inputs.

So are these tires bad for hot,wet humid condition of South Florida or not?
Temps don't drop bellow 40 ' s in the winter
It's does rain a lot in the afternoon's so roads can go from dry and hot to very wet in a matter of seconds.

The issue where you live is drainage. When it rains it pours. These are wide tires which will hydroplane easily in standing water, like any other large performance tire. My Brothers '94 Lightning used to hydroplane all the time in the rain.

Again you need to be sensible.

Probably, speaking from experience as a S. FL person here too. I think it only got below 45 or so maybe 3-4 nights in 2014.

The PP tires should 100% be good from March 1 to October 1 or so as it never gets below 60-70 even at night.

The problem, as above, is water and it gets flooded here. Summer tires are good in warm dry conditions.

Why not just swap out for some all seasons? I'm sure you could find someone who wants the PP tires for a few hundred to offset the cost

It comes with 18 inch wheels already.
WRONG!
Please! Before posting wrong information, check the wheel&tire posts made sticky here.

The EcoBoost with PP (67E) comes with 19" wheel package from the factory:
[67E]: 19 x 9.0-in. 255/40ZR19 96Y Pirelli P ZERO

Thanks!

18" wheels will fit on the Eco PP??? If so that'll be great as I really wanted 18" wheels.

EcoBoost PP uses Mustang GT brakes, Mustang GT comes with 18" Wheels. Standard EcoBoost comes with 17" Wheels.

You are correct that you can use 18" wheels on your ECO PP for A/S or Snow tires.

Just drove my GT premium with the PP this morning in 24 degree weather. Did not have one issue. You need to be aware that you are driving a car with 435 hp and 400 lbs of torque. It needs to be respected in ALL WEATHER, not just cold. If you take it easy when it's cold out or at least wait until the tires warm up, you won't have an issue.

I live in Colorado and would not stand to get A/S if when I order the PP. I daily drive a RWD car and in a place with seasons like we have here you MUST have the right tires for the season. In my case true summer tires from May to October and winter tires from October to May, period. My 128i has almost twice less power and torque than a GT and I still need to take it extremely carefully on my summer tires (Continental ExtremeContact DW) when the temperature is under 50. But when the temperature reaches 60 degrees and above, boy those are fun, and they hold extremely well on track days!
