Definitely not a fan of the old Shelby letterings there. Reminds of the Corvette guys hating the new C7 rear, and wanted the old round style bumpers back.

Ford GT race engine. Just simple but gets the name out

That's an out of date example. This would be the current gen2 engine used in the GT.. note the current GTLM race engine below. You'll see it doesn't have anything on its valve covers. The engine pictured in your post appears to be the display unit they have had since PRI in 2010.

I am not a fan of putting crap all over a car. I don't like unnecessary attention and don't need a vehicle to stroke my ego. Less is definitely more, when you get carried away with shelby, ford performance or 5.2 it detracts seriously from the car and looks like someone spent an hour at autozone in the dress up isle just looking for something to throw on the car. The silver 5.2 above doesn't look bad but it doesn't bother me to not have it either.

Agreed. I typically de-badge a vehicle, not add more badges to them. Very pep boys looking IMO.

same as the BOSS race cars with the roush yates built roadrunners. No trim installed on the engine what so ever.

Yep, most all race engines aside from those with machined valve covers and so on have very little in the way of logos and plastic bs. Unless they are display engines.

Added a couple of pix of some subtle underhood dress-up...hope the pix turn out; first time posting pix...

Next, Coil-Covers, was thinking of doing it myself, if not satisfied will order the JTLs'.
