because V8 and $6.50 a gallon :D )

time to move where mustang is cheaper sounds like. I'd go insane if I paid $6.50 a gallon no matter what the car was. *struts off with current $2.35 a gallon*

I guess its just what we're used to. Our fuel is actually relatively cheap (for us) right now due to oil prices.

Plus, while we in the UK always thought of ourselves as hard done by regarding car running costs, since this whole Mustang malarkey kicked off we've found some of our European friends really get hammered. Like a $22k premium in the Netherlands for wanting an auto box for example.

I didn't choose the low life. The low life chose me!

I'll have to see how low the stock car is in person. My hatchback is already close to scraping the end of the driveway at its stock height, and some of the speed bumps in Sunderland/Newcastle/Gateshead may as well be labelled as mountain passes.

Well I'll be damned. :ninja:
With you there man, we have some ridiculous speed bumps! I'm also concerned about parking it in multi story carparks. Grainger town - no chance, Quayside - no chance, Metrocentre - hmm maybe, at least it doesnt have the 2ft kerbstones on entrance & exit like Grainger & Quay. Bridges - no chance, same for Sunniside Leisure & St.Marys

Out of all the math concepts I teach, rounding is the one that students stumble over. Everyone seems to understand the idea that a number less than 5 will round down and a number 5 or higher will round up. What seems to confuse people is the place value.

1- you only look at two digits while deciding which way to round (not the entire number)
2- if rounding to the tenth, you look at the tenth place and the hundredth place
3- the digit in the hundredth place will tell you if you round up or down

example: 4.94889
this number rounded to the nearest tenth would be 4.9 because the digit in the hundredth place is less than 5.

I had a shifter knob ready to install on my bench weeks before my car arrived.

Just sayin'.

I was just trying to come up with a somewhat logical reason why it was listed as a 5.0L when its actually 4.9L. Marketing will try anything to says something is better than it actually is. It never occurred to any of us that "302cu in" might not actually be an integer. Its actually 302.something which explains the 5.0L.

I over complicate things to an insane degree sometimes.

I think you'd be able to fit in St.Marys as long as you don't bump the wing mirrors and enter through the right gate. Once that is out of the way the place is quite large and accommodating.

Bridges is 100% out of the question as is Sunnyside. My mum's Qashqai can barely fit in either of those, let alone a car much longer and wider with windows like a letter box. I don't even like taking my Kia Pro_Cee'd in there! I feel like I'm going to take off the front bumper (and almost did).

With the Metrocentre I actually park outside the Multi-story. The area outside of TK Maxx when you come from the Dunston exit. There's always spaces and they're nice and wide. :) I often see Range Rovers in there for the same reason - we need that space! Haha :D

I never actually park in Newcastle. If I need to be anywhere in that city I just take the Metro from the St.Peters or the Stadium of Light. Its actually cheaper buying an all day return ticket than three hours of parking in an NCP!

Hell, if a Camaro can fit in the Asda car park at Bolden then I don't think we have any room to complain!

Its a bit pricey for a V8 - but when you consider that our currency is worth 1.5x the US Dollar it becomes much easier to stomach.

At the present exchange rate a minimum wage worker in McDonald's can earn about $20,000 a year vs the USA at $14,100 (both based on 37.5 hour weeks).

$6.50 to us feels like approx. $4, which is about what high-quality American 91 retails for on average (your HQ premium is our regular).

Yes, I consider myself very thankful that the UK isn't a draconian mess like the Netherlands and Italy. Sweden is by far the worst.

I only plan to do some really small changes.

Since I have the PP on black wheels, I just want to get rid of the chrome trim pieces. Replace the Pony, 5.0 and GT logos with black ones. Complete the red on black look.

Ford rounded the "old" motor (which was 4.948) to 5.0 in order to differentiate it from 4.9L inline 6 that was installed alongside it in the F-series/Bronco lines.
the "new" motor is 4.951 which does actually round to 5.0

I was also looking at some BOSS style side stripes. Though, it wouldn't say "BOSS" of course, why pretend I have something I don't? It'd just say "302", the V8's displacement in Cubic Inches.
Actually, the 2015 5.0L motor has a lot of the enhancements that were found in the Boss 302 version of the motor -- at least according to the reviews I was reading (someone more technical could confirm this). Putting "BOSS" on it is not as deceptive as you might think.

Still, your approach is probably better.

lol its crazy, at least for me, how OCD guys become over things we want. this subsides a bit once we obtain these things.
Then you just end up staring at it from the kitchen window.

I am 100% guilty of this.

Very true! But I'd still feel weird being in a standard GT with "BOSS" on the side.

Ok my thoughts, or more precisely, what I'll be doing! Some of it the OP may consider.

Parts ready for install straight after I pick it up;

FRPP CBE S by Borla (now got the best price delivered to the UK, after 4-5 different quotes)

Some form of lowering system (I've had Eibach's pro's on two previous cars) and I'm leaning to the FRPP Lowering kit (full package) But I'm open to other combinations.

If not fitted, the strut brace, that needs to go on as well.

Spacers (probably Eibach's, 20mm, front and back)

Graphics kit of some sort, there are some great ideas on here. I'll take some pics to a local guy I use for design and fitment ( Owen Piling Graphics, they do everything from full wraps to bespoke designs). Should be cheaper than importing and paying duty. Plastic sills, diffuser and splitter wrapped.

On that front, I'm being swayed with a gloss black roof.

Full replacement of LEDs, internal and as many external as I can.

Future mods, rear wing (although I like the spoiler delete).

U.S. style rear lights and fronts (once there's a well trodden road on install)

That's about it really, except the usual mad amounts I spend on detailing.
