Hi, I am after some advice please, I am planning to get the BMR CB005 Sub Frame lock out fitted along with Steeda Sport Progressive Springs. The question is will adding the Diff lock out help or hinder the setup?

out of interest why are Steeda S550 Mustang IRS Subframe Alignment Kit - BMR CB005 more expensive than the standard ones when they're identical just with 2 of the bushes cut in half ?
on the basis of less material then shouldn't it be cheaper or at very least the same price ?

Hi hinch,

Manufacturing cost is mainly down to quantity, we manufacture a ton of our standard ones and just make some of the CBOO5 compatible ones, so comparatively they cost more.

Its why some of the more specialist parts can be relatively high cost too as they are made in much smaller quantities hence are more expensive. This is basically the factor in why motorsports / high end tuning parts cost a lot, as the demand for them is small, so there are very low quantities of them made, hence per unit cost is a lot more.

Obviously they can also use more expensive materials sometimes, but the main reason for cost is quantity.

I hope that helps explain things.

Correct they are Delrin. If you are hacksaw certified, I guess thats an option, haha. However we generally dont recommend hacking our parts up.:eyebulge:

The really important question, is why dont you have these yet.......:paddle::crazy::brokenheart:

The diff bushing inserts will help, but if you are happy with the car as-is... get yourself some Steeda Pro-Action Fixed dampers instead and reap the benefits of improved dampening.

haven't got them yet because I have cb005 and until I read this thread didn't realise you a) did a shorter set and b) i could just chop the longer set down :)

I actually machined mine to size in my lathe..:first:
I think Enoch should do a weekly You-Tube programme on the Mustang, a sort of hybrid between Jay Leno's/Wheeler Dealers/How It's Made...

Can do guest appearances each week with the likes of Gibbo and Mac... and Manders could do a 'Legal - how to fight for your rights' corner...
