If my chassis is M1749, does that mean I have the 1759th Mach 1 made for the model year or am I supposed to be able to decode that from my VIN?

I’m just curious how many have been made so far. My guess is Ford wanted to be around that 9k mark, I have to imagine this chip/semi conductor shortage has them off from that.

You're VIN will be more accurate. If they are like the Bullitt they just pulled tags out of a box and put them on the dash, there wasn't really an order.

And what part of the vin would tell me this? Thank you!

Last 6 digits of my (euro) VIN are 552680 (and build date was pushed back repeatadly). Doesn't say anything about car order imo. From the user photos the chassis numbers are mostly ascending. Ofc they could be pulling them randomly from bags of 100 pieces or so.

Wouldn't the VIN be all Mustangs? Aren't they all built on the same line.

Mine is 1FA6P8R01M5550006 so I don't think it accounts for all Mustangs built in 2021. I'd find it hard to believe I had the 6th car built when production for 2021 actually starts in 2020.
