Stupid question prolly, but Eli5: how is the c8 so fast when it's only got a bit more power than a 5.0 and weighs more?

C8 is quite a subject on the old guy (C1, C2) part of the Corvette forum. Its about split between the likes and the hates. A few of us think the C8 engineering has no equal in the car world, but damn, it's FUGLY! Which is why we drive more reasonable looking things like 6G Mustangs,.....and C2s.

I have been a senior member at the C2 Forum since 2008. Very smart bunch of guys when it comes to Vettes.
I do all my own work but they were integral in getting the restoration of my '63 340hp 4spd convertible right.

My older son just ordered a Z06. Looks like it will be early 2023 before he gets it. Cost is about $125k.

How did he order it? You can't even see it properly or build it on chevy's site yet

I think the dealerships are still open.
Ciocca Corvette started taking reservations in December, with a $2000 deposit. My son was initially number 4447 on the list and he signed up on the first day. But he moved up about 2500 when Ciocca requested another $3000 deposit to make sure he was serious... a lot of people dropped of the list because of the extra deposit.

I think he asked for Z07 package and carbon fiber wheels, but I don't recall for sure, nor do I know how they are able to order options yet.

Doesn't ford recommend 5w-20 synthetic blend in the manual?
They do. But there's no reason not to use something even better.

I just did a Royal Purple oil change. Spendy, but it's good to protect the engine as well as possible.
