Good afternoon,

I’ve had Steeda strut camber plates, Steeda ultralite lowering springs and Ford performance trackshock and strut kit installed over the weekend.I’m curious if this looks correct for the strut nut. Shop said it was torqued down to spec but the stock struts had a few more threads showing. Just want to make sure I have correct preload on springs and it’s safe to operate. I’ve included pictures and how the car is sitting now. I’m new to this so any and all help is appreciated.

The rule of thumb I have always been told for a nyloc (and what they use for the first test of a home built kit car in the U.K.) is 1.5 turns of visible thread after the nylon insert.

That to me looks good to go (nut wise - I can’t answer for the rest of the assembly) :like:

On another note, do the long studs mark the hood blanket ?

That does give me some peace of mind!
And what do you mean by the last question?

I believe @WD Pro was referencing the studs circled. They look like they’re very long and might hit the padding under the hood. I attached a pic of mine after I installed lowering springs and camber plates.

I’m looking for some nice covers for my strut nuts, but I was a little worried about the additional height.

Your strut nuts (studs) are quite tall, are they leaving an impression on the underside of the hood blanket ?

Cheers,

Thank for sharing that info with me, I’m glad they don’t get trapped and damage the hood blanket :like:
