Hi all

This might be a dumb question but I really dont know the answer. What is the average life span on stock spark plugs, no tunes or FI. I know for FI its way way less but I couldn't find much info for a stock gt engine

also what kinda lifespan are you guys seeing out of ur clutches, and how hard do you drive?

Cheers!

I'm guessing 50000-80000 miles for plugs
Clutches I've seen go 100000 miles on other cars. for the S550 no clue.

Manual says change plugs at 100K... I'd be checking them well before that just to be safe.

I had a 2011 mt82 with 50k miles, stock clutch that I even accidently burned a few times, clutch was fine but I broke my 2nd gear syncro on a hard 1-2 shift.

Spark plugs you can check what it says in the manual.

Clutch is highly dependent on how you drive, some people will burn it up in 10k miles while for others it can last 100k+. Safe to say if you don't drive it like an idiot, you should be able to get 50-70k out of a stock clutch as they are designed with longevity in mind.

The car is daily driven here in so cal, so I do not get to drive it too hard most of the time, a couple pulls here and there but nothing crazy at all. Im probably in the 100k group lol

Thanks for the info!

Yeah - should have no issues. The clutch will take stock and even bolt on power levels all day long. Some people get by just fine on a stock clutch and boost for a while. Tire selection and how hard you drive are directly responsible for how long your clutch lasts.

The less you slip the clutch and the less the clutch becomes the “point of failure” AKA you have very sticky tires that rarely break traction, your clutch is working much harder than when you lose even a little traction under hard acceleration.

Plugs - Service is 100k but as a preventative I would change them no later than 50k. That’s just me. I wouldn’t want them to be in the car for 100k even if they were good. I’d be paranoid about the threads seizing or the plug failing and breaking apart in the engine.
