stock rim setup for track??

Ok guys ive searched forever, maybe im blind? I cant beleive hardly anyone is running their stock 18in rims witha set of radials in the back for the track. I have a base 16 gt auto with the 18 magnetics and 235s.
Im looking to buy a new set of 20s for the street, but thought it would be smart to keep the stock 18s, throw a 275
drag radial on the back and keep those for the track. Has many of you done this? And if not what is the reasoning? Also if anyone has done this and has pics please share!

You can't fit a 275 on an 8" wide rim. 255 is the widest. 8.5" possibly, but would still be a very tight squeeze.

Ive fit 275 on a 15x8 with my fox body..zero issues.

275/? the aspect ratio makes a big difference so if you don't know what it is, how can people say if they will or won't work with a critical number missing..

275/45/18 I believe is the size, itll be buldgy and I would much rather recommend a 255 tire

It was a 275/60/15 I had on the fox.
Is it just the looks that people don't like or is this unsafe running that tire with that rim?

With a 60 series, in that size, 8.5" wheel is perfect!
