You want the drag race baer brake setup. About 900 bucks for the rear and youll lose the parking break. Its probably cheaper just to run a 17in wheel. But i did baer all around for a huge weight loss.
Well time to bring this post back to settle the debate. I went back to the track last weekend after installing a lund e85 tune along with a 170 thermostat.
I noticed a huge difference in temperatures and the car runs its ass off now compared to the stock tune. The car chirped my drag radials...
i run a 26 instead of the 28 mt sportsmans sr radial. Main reason being is weight. Look up the weight difference between the 26 and 28 inch. Its alot more than one would think. That is kinda my main goal for running a skinny anyhow....less weight!
Does anyone have the bmr front and rear bumper supports. Curious to how people like them and if its worth it. Im trying to shave all the weight i can and this looks like another decent way to do so.
i looked into it, but wasnt worth it to me. The cost to narrow them is reasonable, you you have to figure shipping there and back. By that time you can have a new set of drag wheels easily.
Is there anything to be skeptical of when buying a used ngauge or am i better off going new? I feel like id have to find one pretty cheap to save alot of money being i would still have a buy a new tune from someone.
Any insight??
thanks!
i agree, i appreciate all the feedback tho, hope it saves some other people some time if they are shooting for similar results. And if they do figure out how to pull a better 60ft with similar setup to mine, congrats to them, but it aint gana happen with this car. Period.
I went again last friday night. I averaged the same times, 8.30s at 85mph with 1.90s 60ft.
This time i didnt unplug so i could use the line lock, just seems much easier on everything when doing a burnout. I stayed at 25psi, and one pass my line lock messed up so i didnt even do a burnout, still...
So i tried again last night...unplugged, 20psi, 2000DA
I was able to finally squeeze a 1.89 60ft back to back. Im not sure if im just getting better at launching it or what, it felt pretty good stalling it up as high as my brakes would allow. However, my best time was still only 8.30 at 85...
I may try one more time for good measure, but i do agree the thing feels like a dog out of the hole. I still feel i should have at least a solid 2 tenths gained for all the weight dropped. Maybe i wont see it in the 1/8 because its shorter?
It was hot as hell and im sure my IATs were through...
so i went back last friday night. The track was super busy and i only made 3 passes with no luck. It was hot with DA 2000+. My 60ft was still 1.90s and my ET slowed down to 8.4-8.5. They actually prepped the track and i lowered my tires down to 25psi. I had my bro video the launch and i couldnt...
Whats the fender plug? I plan on going back and trying a lower pressure. I know they dont prep the tracks on fun night. I had advance track turned off as well.
