Hey everyone, I just got a 2022 Mach 1 and I already had a custom steering wheel for it. I went to put it on today, but came across a different steering wheel bolt than anything I’ve seen online or in videos. Has anyone encountered the same issue or possibly know what size torx bit I will need to remove this? Thanks for the help.

Wow, they definitely changed that up.
I've changed steering wheels on my 2011 and 2017, and it was just a big ass bolt.
Wonder why the change?

I hadn’t seen anything about a change anywhere online. Just went to Home Depot tho and a T50 torx bit did the trick

Interesting , I have a carbon fiber wheel on order for my 21’ GT PP .
I wonder what bolt I have.

Edit: just remember I ordered a new bolt from LMR because I read the bolt is a one time use torque to yield bolt and shouldn’t be reused.
Just opened package and this is what was sent .

Since it has a large Torx bolt now, it's most likely reusable (ie:not torque to yield). I am also thinking the change to a Torx is being used for either safety or anti theft reasons.

I remember reading that.
But I just reused it.
I was winging it though, just torqued it down 'tight'.
But it did work itself loose after a bit.
So then I used some loc tite.

Don't do what I did.
Not a good feeling to have your steering wheel loose!

YES, fords replacement ever since the recall with the Fusions. Its a deeper bolt and meatier threads. you'll find a similar one inside your front wheel well just aft of the tire.
