Steeda spring install ?

Figured I would add that the Steeda Sport Linear springs install with the writing right side up.

I'm not sure if they stamp the writing on each set in the same orientation or not.

Mine were a bitch to get on and don't seem to fit right with the fronts Steeda side up. Steeda has told us to try upside down, will let you guys know when I get time.

I just installed the steeda progressive springs. The fronts were logo upside down. Thats the only way they fit. I called steeda to be sure, and they said "who cares which way the logo is". I think in production it wasn't a big deal, and they marked it whatever way.

I had this same question when installing my Ultralites yesterday. The instructions and the picture showing the upper seat seem to disagree. I installed them according to the picture where 3/4 of the coil wraps around the upper seat, and that resulted in the logo being upside down. If I did it the other way, the spring wouldn't seat properly on the top. Hopefully I'm not driving around with my springs upside down... The car isn't making any strange noises, and is driving great, so I'm assuming it's correct, lol!

I will admit that I'm a little paranoid about it, though. It's the first time I've lowered a car, and I think I might take it to a shop to have them check my work. The rears went in with no problem, but between the orientation issue of the front, and a problem I had with the upper strut nuts, I'd like to get someone with experience to give it a once over. I'll be tracking the car in a couple months, and I certainly don't want to discover then that I have an issue.

Oooo oh, yikes !! Tracking your car voids the warranty!! It's in the book !! Then they give us line lock!!! lol did you get it aligned?? Mine was off and needed it!

Sounds like you installed them correctly, just make sure those upper strut nuts are torqued down properly. With the Ultralites, it's normal for 3/4 of the coil to wrap around the upper seat, in addition to the logo being upside down.

David, you need to change those instructions being shipped out, and notify any shops that stock them. Mine are now rusting where they rubbed from being mounted incorrectly.

Great, thanks! I had an issue with my upper strut nut spinning when I put the assembled strut back together, but I was able to torque it to spec (I believe it's 46 ft-lbs) after getting it placed in the car. Hopefully that's okay.

Do the Ultralite front springs settle at all?

Damn, now I need to pull my fronts off to check and see if they are installed incorrectly. Wish the instructions would have been more clear.

Installed my progressives yesterday, and it wasn't that bad at all. I was a little nervous after i put the first front spring on; cuz when i lowered the car with the jack, it was an inch higher than the stock side. At first i thought :doh:, but it settled out after i installed the other side.

Overall, I'm extremely impressed with the ride and stance. It rides just like stock, but handles a lot tighter: you don't feel the suspension working as hard, like before, in corners. As far as the ride height, it's similar to all the other pics posted up here on the forum.

Now... Do I proceed with more Steeda suspension goodies, or go BMR. :shrug:

Steeda got my money and vote. They're both great companies, I just chose Steeda and have not looked back. I will be getting the last couple of items in the next few months. Then I will wait for their struts and shocks to come out

Agreed. Maybe I should stop being a cheap a$$ lol. Since the days of the Triax shifter in my 99, can't go wrong with Steeda :clap2:
