Those who wondered if the Steeda NHRA legal driveshaft loop would fit the Ecoboost with the 10 speed automatic, yes it will, it is a tight fit getting to the bolts to tighten them but if can be done in about 30 minutes. The exhaust hanger bolts to the tunnel on the left side and at first you think there is no way it will fit but just work at it and when everything is tightened up it fits fine. Just be patient while aligning everything up and know that it will fit.

I have never had a driveshaft break on one of my vehicles but I have been a passenger in two different vehicle when the driveshaft u-joint failed both times it was the front u-joint, both times neither car was being hot rodded, they were both driving normally, the first one was an old rambler with one of those enclosed tude driveshafts so the driveshaft was contained in the tube, a real pain in the rear end to replace the u-joint due to the tube and all the work you have to do because of it.

The second time was a Chrysler product again just driving normal, the driver made a right hand turn and accelerated normally so the car was doing about 20 MPH when the front u-joint let go and the drive shaft dropped down to the ground making one hell of a racket as it bounded around under the car.

Maybe I should of elaborated a little more, when I was Drag Racing, running slicks (at that time non DOT ) NHRA requires a front drive shaft loop , and recommend a rear drive shaft loop for added protection. In my 27 years Racing I've seen a few u joints let go , most serious racers know and run solid high strength u joints and rearly have seen failure . A suggestion to Drag Radials users I would install at the minimum a front loop , and most Tracks Tech requires on DOT Drag Radials or ETStreet as these tires are made of high traction compounds .
