Clutch switch could be the problem. Did you remove the assistant spring? If so make sure the the switch is still in the correct position and any wires for it are not pinched or rubbing with something to do with the brake pedal.

battery charger says 68% and voltage reads 12.1. I would say you have a failing battery or an intermittent alternator which with the smart charge is hard to tell from watching the voltage. you would need to put the battery through a load test. If you have a good multi meter you can do it your self.
very simple.

The other concern would be a parasitic draw. you don't have aftermarket stereo equipment do you?
I have many multimeters and will definitely do this! Thanks.
I have not removed the clutch assist spring or touched the clutch pedal at all. I am going to take a closer look under there tomorrow.

Well both problems solved. The charging system issue happened two more times before I realised the constant variable. When I would wash the car in a car wash that has the under chasis wash the charging system would get wet ( guessing a direct shot into the alternator). Once things dried out went back to normal. Fix- no more under chasis washes.
Next issue, chased down a wiring diagram of the starting circuit. There are two clutch pedal switches, one you can see and one you can't...yep the one you can't was the culprit.

I had an identical situation as far as not starting. The only difference I have an automatic. The message on the screen asked to press brake pedal before starting but was a no go. Since I have remote start I tried it with no problem. Seems there is a sensor issue of some sort as well.
