I'm running a set of Stainless Works O/R headers in conjunction with my FRPP Sport exhaust. The sound the car makes when I open it up is something akin to Mufasa letting the jungle know that he is king of everything the light touches.

I digress; at low RPM's I'm getting a slight metallic sound. Like a penny rolling around a metal pipe, sometimes even bell like. Is this common with these headers (thinner material than the stock exhaust manifold)?

Guess I'm the only one experiencing this? I would post of video, but the sound isn't loud enough to be picked up on a mic.

Do you have a video of the car? I have the same cat back and have been trying to find a video of what it sounds like with headers. Does the car feel much stronger with the headers?

Thanks

I started with the same setup and had to switch to the Touring mufflers. That shit is just plain screaming with the Sport mufflers. :headbang:

A video just can't capture how loud that setup really is; microphones curl up in pain at the fierceness of the sound.

Here's a clip of the SW/FRPP Touring to give an idea of the 'quiet' version:

My wife is out of town, so I have the kids by myself until this Friday. I will post a video of the set up sometime this week. IT IS LOUD though. If I baby the crap out of it, it's not too bad, but once I step on the throttle even moderately.... May the deity you worship have mercy on your eardrums.

I'm going to put a few hundred miles on the system to see if it dies down a little, or if I get used to it. If not, I'll need to switch out to the Touring setup. Car is noticeably more powerful, but I occasionally (once/twice a day) get some hesitation. Working with Lund to get it sorted out.

Nope, using the FRPP 2.5 X-pipe. I've seen people asking if it makes a difference, and I don't think it really makes much of one. When you get a tune, the big three around this site (Lund, Bama, and Livernois) don't even ask about the diameter of your pipes. They just seemed to be concerned with which intake your running (MAF housing size of intake in particular), if you are running headers and are they catted, and what octane do you run.

I could be completely wrong, but I am just going off of the questions asked for my tunes (went with Bama at first, then got a Lund tune).

Sorry about the late video, things have been hectic around the house with my wife out on business. Just took this video 10 minutes ago...
