Also, does anyone who has a spoiler NOT made for verts, seeing any stress cracking in the spoiler paint or any other signs, due to the contour of the decklid?
Don't have a vert, but FWIW my CDC spoiler (which is for coupes or verts and even has contours to not cover the vert CHMSL) came with instructions that say to use paint with a flex agent like you'd use on bumper covers. So, I suspect a lack of flex agent could lead to cracking.

I had a Foose/MMD on my car, not a specific convertible design, about 3 years or so, was solid as a rock. I don't think you're doing to encounter any damage, we're talking just a tiny amount of difference, most of the surface has contact.

I had a couple non-Ford spoiler-like options on my 2006 convertible. One was the twelve-dollar rubber "lip", which I liked because it showed an awareness of aero without overwhelming the car's clean lines; the other was/were AirTab "vortex generators" I came across when discussing them with the originator (he was proud that Boeing used a version on their very newest airliners). Each attractive in its own way, but no practical way to measure their physical effect.
