Splitter support rod?

It is neccessary to install the support rod for the splitter? I am not to much into the rod...

Depends on the splitter and how long you want it to stay attached. If it is functional and measurably adds to the downforce, you'll want the rods to ensure it stays and does it's purpose. If it isn't too big but secured properly, shouldn't matter too much.

I was looking at the APR Carbon splitter, because is carbon fiber and look nice
