would I be able to just drill into the top part of the lower grill insert like this

and use 2 rivnuts? Or does anyone know if the actual bumper overlaps with the lower grille and I'd be drilling into the bumper as well (in which case I'd prob have to take the bumper off)

Thanks

I made brackets which I installed onto the bottom side of the front bumper crash bar. I used M6 Rivet nuts and a 10.9 M6 Bolt to hold them on. I accessed, drilled the crash bar holes by removing the bottom front splash panel. The Bottom Splitter end I bolted to the lower splitter using supplied bolts. Good Luck

Gotcha, also saw a vid showing this method. Do you think something like this would be fine for the lower grill? These splitter rods would primarily be for aesthetics since the splitter itself is from AM and is pretty solid with the ~10 screws it came with.

If they are only going to be on for the look, that would probably work. But I think their are You Tube videos where people who installed the Support RODS with just the screws going into the plastic came off at high speed, But I have not personally seen this. Good Luck
